Ordered the Batteries

I'm finally ready for the batteries, so i put in the order. They should arrive within two weeks, then i can get started on the boxes.

Front License Plate

I got my new license plate straight from Germany a few days ago. In most states including WA, you only need a real back license plate. The front can be whatever.

Here's what i got. It's European style (like my car) and the D stands for Deutschland which is Germany home of Volkswagens

Day One Seattle...Great News

Well today went great!!

My dad and i went all around Seattle hunting for various parts and found everything i wanted. Nothing EV related yet, just little things i need to repair.

1. We went 45 min North to Snohomish and bought some parts very cheap from a nice deaf guy
2. Next we drove back to the hotel, then 30 minutes south to meet the guy selling the grill and headlights, which i got in great condition!
3. Finally we drove back North like 40 minutes to a German Car Wrecking Yard which had tons of trashed GTIs that i was able to salvage the last pieces of the puzzle out of.

I doesn't seem like a long day, but seattle driving is nothing like spokane, and we got lost alot.

Ill post pictures when i get home thusrday.

Tomorrow, we are going to check out some EV stores and i may make my first EV purchase

The to-do list is getting smaller!!

Mom takes me to the sweing store

My mom found a way to help by taking me to the fabric store to get new leather to reupholster the front seats.

I plan to just fix the part wear your butt goes since that is what is torn. Ill probably just staple it to the underside of the seats. I added this to my checklist, which is growing faster than shrinking.

The passenger side is just as bad, but the back seats are perfect. We matched the black leather on the sides of the seat and are going to replace the torn cloth with it.

Recieved New Parts

I got the new parts i bought, and found that the headlights i paid for were shattered. I also bought a third brake light, which was fine, but didn't have bulbs.

I contacted the guy and he refunded me $60 of my $65 and i sent back the shattered headlights, but kept the brake light.

Overall, im happy the guy was honest, but frustrated that i have little progress.

New Purchase

I just purchase headlights and a brake light online for $65 with shipping. They should be coming in about  week

Salvage Yard

Just went to the salvage yard with the idea of finding a passenger door handle and front grill/headlights, but didn't. I didn't come back completely empty handed. I managed to find some various knobs and a newer seal for the moon roof.
